Press Release: Wellington County OPP, June 5, 2026
CENTRE WELLINGTON – One individual has been charged following a collision with a pedestrian in Fergus.
On June 5, 2026, at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside Guelph-Wellington Emergency Paramedic Services, responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision with a pedestrian at the intersection of St. David Street North and Garafraxa Street East in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old from Arthur, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Fail to yield to pedestrian on roadway
Anyone charged with ‘Fail to yield to pedestrian on roadway’ receives a fine of $365.
The pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was assessed at the scene by paramedics.
