ELORA – Drivers in Elora will need to plan for additional traffic disruptions as a road closure on Geddes Street is being extended for infrastructure work.
The Township of Centre Wellington says Geddes Street, also known as Wellington Road 18, will now be closed between Sophia Street and David Street East for a culvert replacement project.
The extended closure takes effect June 15 and is expected to remain in place until early July.
During the closure, there will be no emergency services access and no vehicle access to Geddes Street from Mathieson Street or Sophia Street. Residents living within the closure area will be required to enter and exit from the east.
The township notes that the existing closure and detour route related to retaining wall construction between Stumpf Street and Emily Street will remain in effect until August.
Residents can find the latest project information and construction updates on Wellington County’s construction projects webpage.
