GUELPH – A Guelph woman is charged with robbery after a suspect dropped her identification while struggling with staff of a Guelph business.
At around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Guelph Police were called to a business near Woodlawn Road and Woolwich Street.
Police say a woman entered the business and placed a number of items into a bag. As she tried to leave without paying, an employee blocked her way.
“A struggle ensued, during which the suspect attempted to bite the employee. During the struggle, the woman dropped a number of items, including her identification. She was located a short distance away and arrested. During a search, officers located items determined to have been stolen from another nearby business,” police said in a news release.
A 33-year-old Guelph woman is charged with robbery and possessing stolen property under $5,000 and will appear in court in September.
