WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington North Fire Service has suspended all burn permits effective immediately due to the current Air Quality Alert.
The suspension applies to all existing burn permits, and no new permits will be issued until further notice. Residents with active permits are required to extinguish any open-air fires and cease all outdoor burning.
Fire officials say poor air quality poses increased health risks and can also contribute to unsafe fire conditions.
Residents are being asked to respect the burn suspension and stay updated through Wellington North Fire Service communications for information on when permits may be reinstated.
