According to a press release, on July 26, 2026, at around 8:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on 9th line within the Town of Erin.
Police said as a result of the collision, a hydro-pole was struck, causing 9th Line to be closed for a series of hours as wires were exposed onto the roadway.
Jatin Jatin (20) of Brampton is charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand and the owner operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
The police report also said the driver was impaired.
OPP want to remind road users that refusing to comply with a lawful demand for a breath sample is a criminal offence that carries the same consequences and penalties as impaired driving.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on September 01, 2026.
