CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township of Centre Wellington is reminding residents to apply for their Termite Management Subsidy Program.
The program was put into effect in 2024 and helps residents cover the cost of termite treatment in a mission to reduce Centre Wellington’s termite population.
Back in 2020 the Township was able to map out properties based on resident surveys which contain a notable termite population.

The subsidy program is offering up to 85 per cent coverage on the initial installation of Sentricon Bait Stations on the exterior of a property, to a maximum of $2,500.
“Annual subscriptions amounts, interior treatments and additional treatments will not be reimbursed and are the responsibility of the property owner,” the Township said on their website.
However, these applications are only applicable to properties within the red or blue zones of the Termite Survey Report.
According to the Township termite colonies can contain millions of individuals and spread at an average rate of 50 feet per year, depending on the availability of dead wood.
Termites typically feed on cellulose found in wood, cardboard and paper; Centre Wellington said storing those materials in crawl spaces increases the risk of a termite infestation.
