CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington drivers can expect to see plenty of road work taking place over the rest of the 2026 construction season.
At yesterday’s special meeting, council awarded the contract for this year’s Asphalting of Various Roads Program, with resurfacing planned on 15 roads and municipal properties across Centre Wellington.
Projects include:
Section 1 – Sixth Line East (Wellington Road 21 to Sideroad 10)
Section 2 – Eramosa West Garafraxa Townline (Fifth Line to Sixth Line) – Double Surface Treatment
Section 3 – First Line (Hill St to Building #54), Elora
Section 4 – First Line (Spencer Drive to South River Road), Elora
Section 5 – Torrance Lane (Green Valley Road to Dead End), Belwood
Section 6 – Torrance Lane (Green Valley Road to Sideroad 9), Belwood
Section 7 – Cameron Street (St Patrick St E to St George St E), Fergus
Section 8 – Moir Street (Mary St to John St), Elora
Section 9 – Micro Surfacing – Millburn Boulevard, Fergus
Section 10 – Strathallan Street (Victoria Terrace to Gzowski St), Fergus
Section 11 – Woodside Street (Forfar St W to Black St), Fergus
Section 12 – Parkside Dr E (St David St to Victoria Terrace), Fergus
Section 13 – Bridge Street and Tower Street, Fergus
Section 14 – Fergus Curling Club Parking Lot
Section 15 – Gerrie Road (north of Walser St to Colborne St, Elora
The Township says the work is designed to extend the life of local roads, improve safety, and help avoid more expensive repairs down the road.
Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays and construction-related disruptions while the paving work is underway.
