ERIN: According to Wellington County OPP, a Victoria Harbour driver has been charged following a collision in Erin.
OPP said on Aug. 13, 2026 at around 6:30 p.m., police received information from a neighbouring OPP detachment regarding a suspected impaired driver heading into the county on Wellington Road 124 in Erin.
Police received a second report just minutes later about a single-vehicle collision by the intersection of Wellington Road 124 and the Fifth Line in Erin.
Their investigation revealed a vehicle left the roadway, drove into the guardrails and came to a stop on the shoulder.
Police have reported no injuries.
Wellington County OPP said a 77-year-old from Victoria Harbour has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Guelph courts on Sept. 25, 2026.
