CENTRE WELLINGTON- The deadline is approaching for anyone looking to run in the 2026 Municipal Election.
Nomination papers for Mayor, Councillor, or School Board Trustee must be filed by 2 p.m. this Friday, August 21.
In Centre Wellington, the mayoral race is already taking shape, with five candidates currently in the running.
They include former Ward 5 Councillor Stephen Kitras, current Ward 5 Councillor Bronwynne Wilton, previous mayoral candidate Neil Dunsmore, former Mayor Kelly Linton, and current Mayor Shawn Watters.
For the Wards here are the candidates:

Ward 2:

Ward 3:

- David DeWitt
- Shivam Taneja
Ward 4:

Anyone looking to enter the race must file their nomination papers in person, or through an agent, at the Township Municipal Office in Elora before Friday’s deadline.
The 2026 Municipal Election takes place October 26.
