BELWOOD – The Belwood Lions are contributing $25,000 toward the ongoing renovation of the Belwood Hall.
Members of the Lions recently met with Centre Wellington Township Community Development Manager Kristen Bettiol and Building & Properties Capital Project Manager Mason Noble to present the first cheque toward the Belwood Lions’ $25,000 donation to support the hall renovation.
Renovation work at the hall is well underway, with concrete being poured for the new front entrance and accessibility ramp.
The Lions say township representatives also outlined additional plans for the building, including replacing the exterior board and batten and constructing a new concrete patio outside a planned door overlooking Belwood Lake.
Fundraising is underway to help cover the cost of those additional improvements. If the fundraising targets are reached, the patio would provide a new outdoor gathering space and complement the existing Belwood Lions patio and benches.
The renovations and planned exterior improvements are expected to give Belwood Hall a fresh look while creating additional accessible and usable community space.
