NEWS RELEASE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE
(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit arrests two suspects, disrupting illegal operations valued at approximately $532,025.
On August 18, 2026, and August 21, 2026, as a result of an on-going investigation, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), alongside: Wellington County OPP CSCU, West Region Emergency Response Team and West Region Canine, executed a series of search warrants on an address within North Wellington Township.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals have been placed under arrest without incident, and police seized controlled substances worth an estimated potential street value of $397,745, alongside offence related property worth approximately $6,780.
In addition to the seizures, police also recovered stolen property worth an estimated value of $127,500, which is connect to several neighbouring jurisdictions.
A Wellington North Township resident is charged under the Criminal Code, and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following (22) charges:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (four counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 (six counts)
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of firearm / ammunition contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of MDMA for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Ketamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Codeine for the Purpose of Trafficking
Additionally, another Wellington North Township resident is charged under the Criminal Code, and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following (19) charges:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (four counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 (six counts)
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of MDMA for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Ketamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Codeine for the Purpose of Trafficking
Both accused were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph, on August 21, 2026, and were remanded into custody.
