WELLINGTON COUNTY: According to a report from The Weather Network the first week of fall will see optimal conditions for severe thunderstorm development.
The Weather Network said heat and humidity will be fairly present across the province of Ontario, with some communities in Southern Ontario forecasted to see local highs exceeding 30 C.
“On Tuesday, Windsor has a forecast of 34 C with a feels-like value of 43 while Ottawa has a forecast of just 20 C,” the report said.
The swath of humidity is due to atmospheric moisture making its way from the Gulf of Mexico.
According to The Weather Network’s forecast Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with “rounds of rain and thunderstorms.”
For Monday, Aug. 31, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of Wellington County regarding rain showers and embedded thunderstorms bringing a possible 30-50mm of rainfall.
Both weather institutions have issued warnings about pooling water and possible flooding due to the volume of rain in combination with slow-moving storms.
