CENTRE WELLINGTON – A Toronto driver is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic complaint in Belwood.
On Tuesday at around 2 pm, Wellington County OPP received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver.
Police located the driver in a parking lot on Belsyde Avenue East and Scotland Street, Fergus, and a traffic stop was conducted.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old from Toronto, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Operate unsafe vehicle
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a Guelph court in October.
