KITCHENER/WATERLOO – Music, art and local entertainment will take over Belmont Village in Kitchener this weekend as the Belmont Village Bestival returns for its 10th anniversary.
The two-day festival runs Friday and Saturday, September 11th and 12th, celebrating local performers and artists throughout the Belmont Village neighbourhood.
The event will feature live music, visual artists, vendors and activities for families, with the street being closed down to make room for the festival.
Tim Moher, the founder of the Bestival, says the event is held each year shortly after Labour Day as a way to celebrate the end of summer and showcase local talent.
Moher says the event will feature a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, pop, country, bluegrass, soul, blues, Americana and more.
He says there are two stages to take in at the Bestival.
On Saturday, families can also bring the kids to Bestival for KidSquare, an interactive area featuring music, crafts, games, and more. The fun will be happening at the intersection of Belmont and Claremont streets.
Admission to the Bestival is FREE; festival hours are Friday from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
