ABOYNE – The Wellington County Museum and Archives is opening the doors to some of the more intriguing stories found in its collections with a new Archives Speaker Series this fall.
The four-part series will bring local experts to the museum to share surprising discoveries, untold stories, and unique perspectives uncovered while preserving and researching Wellington County’s history.
The series will explore everything from historical research and family heirlooms to the clues found in century-old photographs.
The Archives Speaker Series gets underway Sunday, September 20, with presentations scheduled throughout the fall:

Canvassing the County: Wellington Through the Lens of an Itinerant Photographer

“We’re excited to invite the community to come and hear some of the stories that emerge through the work of preserving our history,” commented Karen Wagner, the WCMA’s Archivist. “Archives and museum collections can hold remarkable surprises, and this series is a chance to share some of those discoveries with the public.”
All four presentations will take place in the Reading Room at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
Admission is by donation, and no registration is required.
The speaker series is part of the museum’s ongoing work to preserve Wellington County’s history and make its collections more accessible to the community.
