GUELPH-ERAMOSA: Good Samaritans were on-the-scene this morning helping a driver get out of their car which took a dive into Guelph Lake.
Wellington County OPP said around 10:30 a.m. on September 16 emergency services were dispatched to a single vehicle driving off Wellington Road 124 and landing in Guelph Lake.
The press release said the driver was trapped inside the sinking vehicle.
Thanks to help from locals in the area the driver was safely brought to shore where they were assessed by emergency crews and then taken to hospital.
“During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a guard rail was damaged, and no other vehicles were involved,” the press release said.

Initially Wellington Road 124 and Jones Baseline were closed, but shortly reopened.
