WELLINGTON COUNTY – A 39-year-old Dufferin County resident is facing an impaired driving charge following a traffic stop in Marden.
Wellington County OPP says an officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Wellington Road 30 last Wednesday night when they were approached by a motorist.
Police say, quote: “During the interaction, the officer formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.”
The individual was subsequently arrested.
A 39-year-old from Dufferin County has been charged with operating while impaired — blood alcohol concentration 80 plus; in addition, the individual’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The driver is scheduled to appear in a Guelph court in October.
