CENTRE WELLINGTON – A Cambridge driver is facing two charges following a traffic stop in Centre Wellington.
Wellington County OPP says officers were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative around 6:30 Monday morning when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Wellington Road 7.
A traffic stop was initiated, and following the investigation, a 26-year-old Cambridge resident was charged with:
- Speeding 1 to 49 kilometres over the posted limit
- Drive motor vehicle — perform stunt — excessive speed
Under provincial law, anyone charged with stunt driving faces an automatic 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
