PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP — Police have identified the man found deceased inside a vehicle in Puslinch Township earlier this week, as the investigation continues as a homicide.
Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Wellington Road 32 at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21.
Officers located a deceased person inside the vehicle.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Trumaine Kyte of Cambridge.
Police say they believe the incident was isolated and there is currently no indication of a broader threat to the public.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services.
The investigation is also being conducted in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Investigators are asking residents and anyone who travelled through the area of Wellington Road 32 between 9 p.m. Sunday, September 20, and 7:30 a.m. Monday, September 21, to check surveillance or dashcam footage for any suspicious vehicles or activity.
