PUSLINCH – Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with a 2025 shooting in Puslinch that left one person injured.
On November 16th, 2025, Wellington County OPP and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded to a reported home invasion in South-East Morriston.
Police say one person was located at the scene with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local trauma centre.
As a result of the investigation, three people have been arrested and charged.
On June 19th, an 18-year-old from Oshawa was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm, section 239(1)(a)
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 465(1)(c)
- Breaking and entering a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(b)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, section 354(1)(a)
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date. Their identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
On June 24th, a 20-year-old from Mississauga was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm, section 239(1)(a)
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 465(1)(c)
- Discharge firearm with intent, section 44(1)
- Firearm use while committing offence, section 85(1)(a)
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, section 86(1)
- Pointing a firearm, section 87
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88
- Carrying concealed weapon, section 90
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm, section 91(1)
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, section 92(1)
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, section 95(1)
- Breaking and entering a dwelling house to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(b)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, section 354(1)(a)
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on October 9th.
On September 9th, a 19-year-old from Welland was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm, section 239(1)(a)
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 465(1)(c)
- Firearm use while committing offence, section 85(1)(a)
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, section 86(1)
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88
- Carrying concealed weapon, section 90
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm, section 91(1)
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, section 92(1)
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, section 95(1)
- Breaking and entering a dwelling house to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(b)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, section 354(1)(a)
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on October 5th.
A publication ban has been issued, and as a result, the OPP says it cannot release further information.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services.
