WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County OPP is reminding drivers to watch for deer on the roads as activity increases during the fall months.
Kyle Fozard with Wellington County OPP says deer are more active this time of year as they enter mating season and search for food.
This can lead to unexpected encounters with vehicles, especially around dawn and dusk when visibility is reduced.
Fozard says drivers should also watch for movement along the roadside. If you see one deer, be on the lookout for more, as they often travel in groups.
He says if you spot a deer on or near the road, slow down, be prepared to stop and use your horn to encourage the animal to move away.
