CENTRE WELLINGTON – Wellington County OPP are renewing their appeal for information about a fatal collision in Centre Wellington that claimed the life of a 16-year-old Puslinch Township boy.
Police have released a video featuring a message from Nash Dunlop’s family, asking anyone with information to come forward.
Dunlop died after a collision involving a pedestrian and a minivan on Wellington Road 29, south of the Eramosa-Garafraxa Town Line, just after midnight on September 19th.
He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Two youths have since been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the investigation. Police say neither of the accused was a passenger in the minivan involved in the collision.
“Investigators believe individuals in attendance at a youth gathering at a residence near the scene on the night of the fatal collision may have information relevant to this investigation. To support this appeal, the OPP is releasing a video with a message from the victim’s family and a renewed appeal for information.”
OPP Detective Inspector Seth Adair says investigators are grateful to those who have already come forward, but believe there are others who may still have information.
“If you’ve not yet come forward, we encourage you to reach out to investigators,” Adair said. “Any piece of information can be valuable to our investigation, no matter how small it may be.”
Dunlop’s father, Brady, is also asking anyone who may know something to speak with police.
“If anyone has any answers or any snippet of information. Anything minor, anything that can help us answer some questions, help the investigators,” he said.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the Office of the Chief Coroner, the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
