FERGUS – According to a social media post from the Township of Centre Wellington crews are on-the-scene repairing a watermain break on Forfar Street East between Victoria Terrace and James Street.
“This work will continue into the early evening and possibly longer due to the extent of the break,” the Township said.
They also said the stretch of Forfar will be be closed until repair work has been completed.
“Residents who experience discoloured water are urged to turn on a cold water tap nearest to the water meter and allow water to flush slowly for several minutes until it runs clear,” the Township said, “normal water pressure will resume once repairs are complete.”
If the water is still discoloured after 24 hours of the completion of repairs residents are asked to contact 519-846-9691 (Option #2).
