The inaugural CW Pride Community Celebration will be held on June 14th from 1-4:30 pm. The event will be held at the barn and the nearby grounds of the Wellington County Museum and Archives. It will include activities for all ages, educational materials and vendors as well as a food truck. This free event, while open to all, is particularly geared to everyone in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies and friends.
In recognition of the Indigenous First Peoples on this land, and the aims of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, we will open and close the event with an Indigenous Elder. Live music will be provided by Anat Hector as our opening act, and the local queer folk rock band Groundcover.
Activities include face painting, rock painting, a bubble station, and friendship bracelets. Goodie bags will be provided to the first 100 participants who fill out our celebration survey. Education and partner information will be available. Select vendors who support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community will be invited to attend.
