CLIFFORD – A townhome development in Clifford is nearing approval. Four four-unit townhomes spanning 240 square metres have the potential to get the go-ahead in Minto Tuesday evening. The development would be located at 24 Minto Street North in Clifford.
The council session follows a public meeting earlier this month in which residents shared traffic concerns among other woes with the development.
A bylaw amendment before council tonight would see the land rezoned to facilitate development and also a hold placed on the lands until “servicing is provided to the town’s satisfaction.”
Responding to resident concerns in a recommendation report that will be before staff this evening, the developer indicates each unit would be one storey tall.
They also stated tree removal would be “minimal” in preparation for construction, and that town staff are generally supportive of a more efficient use of the property.
The meeting in Minto will begin at 7 p.m. tonight following a closed session.
